Imagination for Life!

About Lauren
I've dedicated my life to the healing and transformative powers of the imagination. As a musician, storyteller, mentor (and mother!), I'm devoted to a creative practice that grows out of loving relationships with ourselves, each other, and the natural world. At a time when it can be challenging to understand the role human beings might play in the larger story of the earth, this practice is a trusty compass. I'm so excited to offer classes, events, and mentorship to anyone who wants to explore the gifts of the imagination.
My Background
I began working as a nature-based educator in Burlington, Vermont in 2012. Since then, I've taught, mentored, and coached young people of all ages at the Burlington Forest Preschool, Crow’s Path, and the University of Vermont. I received my Master’s degree in Education for Sustainability at the University of Vermont in 2017. I was formally trained in piano as a child, and I began writing original music for piano and voice in 2009. During my time with Crow’s Path, I began the practice of collaborative song-making and storytelling, weaving together human imagination and the voices of the wild earth. This is still my greatest joy!
I also offer one-on-one mentoring for young people, integrating nature connection and the healing power of the imagination to build a sense of belonging, confidence, and trust in one’s self and the world. I became certified as a clinical hypnotherapist in 2011 with a specialization in the therapeutic practice of hypnosis with children. My one-on-one work integrates my extensive experience as a nature-based educator with the safe and effective tools of hypnotherapy.
